Random Thoughts In August 2025:

2025-08-15-FRI-00:11-CST – ??? –

2025-08-15-FRI-00:11-CST – BEEN AWHILE – I see I haven’t been around D98 for 11 days. I’ve been busy blogging. I haven’t been here. I’ve been working over at OHYIDI.co (Oh Yes I Did It), my newest website. It’s sort of a side-blog to this site. Anyway, I’ve got something new I want to start posting. I discovered that Google Trends lists search queries along with the trending topics. I want to start a Google Trends Directory here at D98. I gotta read over my D98 updates first to refamiliarize myself with my content and to make sure there isn’t anything I need to catch up on.

2025-08-04-MON-20:00-CST – UNUSUAL MONDAY – The weather is dreary. The whole sky is gray. There is a foggy mist in the air. The temperature outside feels good though. Due to unforeseen events tonight, I may not be able to drag out my laptop to do any website work. But if I can, it will be later which kind of sucks. I am trying to start a new side blog ao that I can have a separate place for posting random things – a micro-blog basically. Oh well, I can at least use Firefox on my phone in the meantime to find an available URL for the blog… and no I will not (probably – but maybe) link the blog here at D98 WEB.

2025-08-04-MON-20:00-CST – WHAT TO DO TONIGHT? – I am tired… but I want to do at least one productive thing. It is on my mind to move my Blogroll to D98. So I may oray not do that. I also need to set up a Updates Archive post for this month so I can get underway with logging updates.

2025-08-03-SUN-18:10-CST – WEATHER CHECK – It’s 68, cloudy, and windy (OPE-AL).

2025-08-03-SUN-05:20-CST – SHUTTING DOWN MY WORK STATION – I have gotten a lot of work done on my website through the night, and I also took a nap despite all the caffeine I consumed since yesterday afternoon. I am now shutting down my laptop. I will be in “mobile mode” on my phone for the rest of the morning.

2025-08-02-SAT-18:19-CST – PRACTICING MY INNER RAGE THIS WEEKEND – This means I’m keeping commentary about BS to myself, rather than call people out on Facebook like I normally do.

2025-08-02-SAT-17:23-CST – I NEED FOOD AND HYDRATION – I’m hungry. I gotta do some work, and then I’ll find something to eat. I’m also feeling dehydrated. I am working on drinking water and other drinks.

2025-08-02-SAT-16:15-CST – NEW HOT WHEELS COLLECTION STARTED TODAY – I told myself don’t do it, but I did it anyway… because I have no control obviously. Long story short: I went to wally world this morning to get some caffeine pills, and as usual I took a walk around the store, and of course grabbed some stuff I don’t need. Some of these things happened to be 10 new Hot Wheels cars. I don’t remember what sparked my interest in Hot Wheels recently. Of course I used to buy them when I was young. I also tried to start a new collection several years ago… around 2012 or so. I bought about 10 Hot Wheels that time as well, but they just sat in a box unseen for years… and then I think I threw them away or donated them somewhere. So anyway, recently I started looking at Hot Wheels online, and so this morning when I walked by them in the store, I had to take a look. I looked through every peg that had $1.18 Hot Wheels hanging on them, and picked 10 to buy. It was actually fun. I forgot how fun it is to look at them all and pick out the ones that stand out… you know, the ones that you just can’t leave behind… and must have for your collection. I don’t plan on becoming a serious collecter. If I continue to buy any more, I hope that I can do it just for fun, and not get too invested. I think it could become a fun photography project as well maybe. I don’t want cases and cases of Hot Wheels taking up space… even though I’m already shopping for a case to keep my Hot Wheels in lol. I gotta store them in something. It may as well be an official Hot Wheels case.

2025-08-02-SAT-16:03-CST – UGH! MY FACE IS BOTHERING ME – It’s the hair. Getting time to shave and trim.

2025-08-02-SAT-15:32-CST – NEW AIR DRY CLAY RANDOM ART PROJECT IDEA – I have a new RANDOM ART BOTTLE FILLER idea. I like to fill up plastic soda bottles with random things just for the fun of it to see how the end results turn out. My current favorite bottle filler hobby is making glitter bottles. I’m working on filling a bottle with construction paper hole punches, which is a very time consuming project. Now I’ve come up with a new idea. I recently got into making things with air dry clay. This bottle filler idea would require making tiny little balls (similar to beads but without holes) to fill a bottle with. These little balls would be made from different colors. If you have ever made a colored sand bottle, then you will get this idea. Will I do it? Will ever start this project? Who knows at this point. We’ll see I guess.

2025-08-02-SAT-15:14-CST – TO DO – Make a weather page for recording current local weather conditions.

2025-08-02-SAT-15:01-CST – GEARING UP FOR PRODUCTIVITY TONIGHT – I gotta admit, I’m 51/49 on staying motivated for doing website work tonight, but there are some things that have been on my brain to do tonight, so there may be a big site update… and there may not be lol. I did not sleep today. I will be coasting on caffeine pills and energy drinks if I want to stay awake. I’m actually feeling a little sleepy right now and I don’t know how. Within probably the past 2 to 3 hours I have had a 5-hour energy drink, and 2 caffeine pills. Tonight is gonna be rough trying to keep my eyes open.

2025-08-02-SAT-13:12-CST – NEW BRAIN PAGE – This month in August 2025, I’m trying something new on site in regards to where I post my random thoughts. It is on my new Brain page. Previously I was writing these random thoughts in the site footer section, but that proved a little awkward since that section is maintained by WordPress patterns, and patterns can’t be accessed in the WordPress app. So it will be easier to write these on a page when using the app. So that is that for that. Oh… and I’m not going to post any alerts or promotions for this page in the updates or on social media. This will be one of those pages I leave up to site visitors to discover.

As of: 2025-12-18-THU-10:31-CST – I realize that I’ve been neglecting D98 for quite some time. It wasn’t intentional. I’ve just gotten very heavily involved in building surfman.co, my other website. That website will carry a new PDF version of my directory listings, some of which are listed here, and could also offer some free ebooks. My intentions are to combine this website with the new website in ways where more online content will be featured here, and over there, you can download a pdf for tablet use. So I haven’t forgotten about this website. I just have multiple projects going on, and I’m trying to focus on that one for awhile. I have decided over the last couple of months that I need to consolidate the number of websites I’m maintaining down to 2 or 3. I’m also in a position where I need to seriously declutter my home, and I don’t do well at decluttering lol. So I’ve got a lot of work going on, but no updates to show until I finish building that website and get the pdf directory online for distribution. I hope everyone has a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026!

Note To Self: Put the negatives in your life aside and get this shit done! Some people do not deserve your attention based on how they act. Choose life and happy future over bullshit.

I enjoy checking the horoscopes and posting my comments about them. I don’t really take the horoscopes too serious. Mostly I read them out of curiosity to see if anything corresponds to events happening in my life. I am also not “religious”, nor “atheist”. I value that I have the ability to listen to spiritual-based teachings without getting caught up in the “thou better do this shit or else because god said so” way of thinking. I also value that I can learn, and dare I say, at times be guided in life some way, or inspired by the horoscopes to frame my choices and thought patterns a certain way. In the end, it all comes down to karma for me, and I choose to be guided by me, and me alone… not someone else’s idea of who or what I’m supposed to be, or how I’m supposed to act, based on their beliefs.

Lemmy:

I’ve been checking out Lemmy.ml frequently lately. It’s my understanding that it is a federated version of Reddit. I’ve seen some interesting and informative topics posted there that people are discussing. I am now listing them for resource value.

NOTE: This section of the site is starting to look like it could use it’s own dedicated page, or perhaps even it’s own directory on the blog. I haven’t decided which direction to go for this, but I am looking at moving this content to a more appropriate place at some point in the future since I keep coming back to it.

ANOTHER NOTE: There is another site similar to Lemmy called PieFed I’m gonna have to check out. I should actually I will have to check it out in more depth to see if it’s worth adding to my content curation workflow… and I think it would be. I’ve glanced over it and found this post about a website that generates a bookshelf image based off of your Goodreads account. It never hurts to have multiple sources to curate content from. Also I’m considering to set up a new Reddit account as well.
